Default How do I get on line

I have just subscribed to limewire and can not get on line.

I am running LW 4.8.1 with java 1.5.0_04. OS is windows XP with IE 6.0.2900.2180.

My ISP is virgin.net and am connecting via a wireless network, router is BT Voyager 2000.

I am running McAfee Virus Scan and Firewall which I have set to allow LW unfiltered access and have disabled windows firewall.

Have tried deleting .limewire directory, disable autoload at startup and have tried port scan on port 6346 which keeps coming up stealth.

Help somebody please!!

Thanks

From what I can see here your bt voyager 2000 is supposed to be able to utilise UPnP which means manual port forwarding should not be necessary. Are there any other devices you use on top of this one?

Do this simple port test instead for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

Double-check your McAfee settings.

Thanks for your reply, I have set up Limewire for manual port forwarding and disbled all firewalls. I am now just running McAfee firewall with filtered access for limewire and it seems to be working.

Don't ask me what is different from before, I think it was just the umpeenth reboot and the software or computer surrendered and let me on.

Thanks anyway.
