Unhappy mac problems

I have a G3 and am running 9.0. Version 1.7 has stopped connecting and on the rare times that it does, I get hardly any hosts. What is the problem???

It looks like a 3rd of all messages being posted here are Mac users having connection problems...would it make sense to combine all of the Mac-related threads into one (any moderators out there?)

Default Yes, I am here

We do have a Mac section set up. This is where Mac users should post problems that are specific to the Macinstosh. However, this problem should be seen and addressed by all users of the forum. Windows users are experiencing disturbingly similar problems, so it is appropriate that everyone see these posts. This connection problem needs to be solved, and we don't have any solutions yet. Please hang in there or help us solve the problem.

We have admittedly neglected this problem somewhat -- most of us have been off working on our own projects for a time, and this is not the most glamorous part of the code to delve back into.

We are, however, giving this another hard look along with coming up with more generally robust solutions for locating active users on the network who can accept connections.

Has anyone tried the Sparky Project? It's working great right now. If anyone wants to know more, just post a reply.
