Thumbs up

I've grown up with Limewire since 1.2.
Every once in a while I try another share program - like bearshare - to see if it can top Limewire - but I keep coming back.
Today I upgraded to 1.7c - and had the same connect issues - then went to limewire.com - and it was down.
I was grateful that it was just a server problem - cause there is no client better than limewire.
And when I did what "crohrs" said "connect through bearshare.net:6346" - ALL WORKS GREAT AGAIN!

Give these people a fair shake - after all look at what you get compared to what you pay.

Question DoS attack

I read somewhere that the major record companies were planning on conducting denial of service attacks on file-sharing networks that they weren't able to sue. Any chance that's what this is?

Cool Can't Connect...

I only downloaded Limewire about a week ago... I love this thing. I can't believe how many "uploads" there are... it never seems to end... had to reduce the number of connections allowed during business hours... slowed my Mac down like crazy.

Meanwhile, I am VERY satisfied with this little utility gizmo software thingy...... other than the fact for the last two daze I couldn't get the thing to connect.

However I am a mildly patient person, so I can wait till the powers-that-be fix whatever it is that is schmuckered. I can't complain... it didn't cost me a flippin dime and I am way ahead of the game.

The people that are responsible for LimeWire's creation and ongoing support are obviously NOT politicians, cause IF they were, it wouldn't work at all, and they would have their hands out looking to fill their pockets.

I would like to state that I am very grateful that there are still people of this calibre inhabiting this mentally challenged planet... I think they should consider politics so we can all benefit from their benevolence.

Angry

I don't think that record companies would want to get involved in attacking the open source, and p2p communities!
it would be rather foolish, and quite possibly asking for retaliation?

Default hosts

I have found that lately I keep getting connected to computers that only have one host. I have to keep removing them from the connections window until I get connected to computers with hosts. Any idea whats up with that?

Default router.limewire.com back up

Hi everyone. We think we fixed the problem with router.limewire.com and www.limewire.com over the weekend. Thanks for your patience!

Woolrich: don't be worried about the # of hosts shown per connection. Those numbers aren't so accurate. If you're getting a lot of traffic in the monitor window, you're probably well connected. If not, try opening more connections.
