Newbie failed connecting - wants specific info of protocol used - behind firewalls
 

Hi!
I'm a newbie trying to use LimeWire 1.7 on a Windows 98 SE platform. No connection and no error message.. I know that it could/will be problems using LimeWire/Gnutella behind firewalls/proxys, but because these are in control of me I have some hope..

I want to know which protocols/ports Gnutella uses, is it TCP, UDP, ICMP etc ? Which ranges of ports must I at least permit etc ?

I have installed "Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition Version 1.3.1".
