worked the first time . . . thereafter when I search for a song I get a message: "LimeWire currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected." No results are resulting.

I have AVG free version running on Windows XP, a dial up with a 56K modem. My network connection properties box shows that firewall is enabled. Any suggestions much appreciated.

first, you have to be connected to the internet to get any use out of this application. second, did you try waiting for LimeWire to fully where the connection monitor shows atleast all green bars?

for responding . . . I was indeed connected to the internet and the connection bars on the bottom left of the LimeWire screen show all green bars (mouse over says my connection is very strong). Next to it, LimeWire does detect a Firewall.

hmmm. I connected using "connect" under the File menu (after I'd gone offline and back on), and got results right away.
