Connection issues. Help please.

http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ does say 'Your test worked!'

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? Windows XP x64
2. What firewalls you have? Windows Firewall has been disabled, but I'm on a college network, I'm faily cetain they've got another one on,
3. How much ram? 1 GB
4. Hard Disk space available? A lot. I've got 3 80 gig hardrives.
5. Connection type? College Network, I'm guessing T1
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
From the hardware manager:
1394 Net Adapter
Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller
Nvidia nForce Networking Controller

According to network connections, the 1st 2 are connected.
7. Where aree you trying to connect from? College
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? Limewire v4.9.27 pro. Java 1.5.0_04
9. Who is your isp provider? Don't know, school doesn't tell us.
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? It's a college network
11. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user? I've used Limewire for years, never had this problem until I came here.

Also, can someone give me a detailed explanation on how to connect via proxy? I put in the numbers and everything and it still won't connect.

My guess is that the college is blocking p2p networks.

Do any perticular posts in those threads pertain to this, I read both of those before making this topic.

The first thread you posted had only one post that helped. The one that said to go to http://www.grc.com/port_6346.htm to find out if the ports are opened or closed. That told me that mine was on Stealth. Yet the rest of the topic fails to explain how I can get around this.

The second topic: I followed those directions to the T. Several times. Each time they had absolutely no effect.

The only way that I known of is to find a proxy you will have to keep trying and hopefully you will find one that works. The second thread. Someone else might know of another way that I am not aware of.
