Limewire startup issues I have gone through and viewed the posts on connection issues. Nothing I have come accross addresses this issue. If its out there i have missed it. Running windows xp, 2002 version, sp2 amd 1500+ 1.35ghz 320 mb. video is a 3D prophet 7500 series. Mcafee firewire, antivirus, antihacker, antiabuse, spamkiller. i have been able to use limewire before i upgraded to sp2. without any issues at all. Now, i have upgraded the sp and all the different securities. I open up the limewire icon and it appears to start with all the wording in the start up window. Then it disappears and the program does not start up. i have gone through and have tried the different settings for the video, removed and reinstalled the limwire software online and offline. Removed all references in the registry. i have disabled the mcafee software with the same results. I have tried turning off the windows security firewall and nothing. I can not think of what else to try here. Would appreciate any input on this matter. I thought of uninstalling sp2 but would rather not do this. Thanks to all, Drewcfr |
change your settins in SP2 it blocks your ability to download. and check to see if you are behind a firewall and adjust your firewall settings accordingly. try not turning your firewall off for a long period of time and do not go without using your virus protection program while in Limewire. Never try to leave yourself too wide open for hackers etc. |
Limewire start up issues Excuse my ignorance. Any suggestions on what settings i need to change in SP2? Im not sure what settings your referring to. I use a linksys and mcafee even when limewire did work. Now after the SP2 update it doesnt work. I would appreciate any steps you have on where to find the settings in SP2. drew |
Hi Try re-installing your graphics drivers again also look at the some of the other drivers Ie motherboard, modem as windows Sp2 can mess up a windows Installation by moving the order the drivers load up in. Hope This helps Sgt |
