university im using 4.9.28 in my dorm room, at first i was able to use limewire just fine, but then it suddnely stopped connecting. I was just wondering if my university blocked p2p networking |
A recent post within minutes to compare: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=44983 Yes we get lots of posts from university/college/dorm users. All with the same problem. Either they are blocked totally or once the school detects high bandwidth use, they put their detectors & filters upon it. |
haha, ooops must have missed that post, ive read most of them though. thanks for your help, i thought that what it was, but i wasnt sure |
However, that doesn't necessarily mean you're totally blocked. I've had enquiries about using different types of proxies from schools. Be they http or other. Have a look at A Fix for those whose ISP's block Limewire pages 1 - 3 which have links to alternative instructions. But keep in mind proxies are not all successful. Sometimes you need to try out many many b4 you find one that works. That was originally suggested to me by NeOteric. |
