![]() I'm running Limewire 4.9.29 on Windows 2000 SP4 9fully updated). I am connected to a Linksys DSL/Cable router which provided DHCP to my computers. Ever since I updated Limewire from 4.8.xx I get these boxes that pop up from time to time telling me my computer does not have an internet connection. Well, the odd thing is that its right I do not and only a reboot gets it back for me. The problem is Limewire related as I can go for weeks without needing a reboot until I run Limewire. In addition to Limewire knocking out my internet connection it also is bogging down my system horribly. After a ferw hours of it running my system moves like a snail in molassas. Again the only cure is a reboot. I haven't looked at the resources Limewire uses from start to the poit it bogs the system down so I can not say with any certainty that there is a memory leak, but it does apprear that way. Another thing that started at the exact same time I updated Limewire is 90% or more of the files people try to download are never completing. They can get somewhere around two seconds of connection to the file before my Limewire reports TransferInterrupted. Strangly though a few people here and there do not seem to have this problem downloading files from me. Do I need to remove Limewire and revert back to the older seemingly more stable version or what? I checked and my cable company claimed they do not cut off Gnutella transfers, indeed they said they do not care what means people transfer so long as they stay clean and out of trouble. But those are the words of a tech so may not exactly be accurate. Any ideas what the solution is to these several problems? Thanks, Xumer |
