my netgear firewall is blocking limewire
 

hi im trying to connect to limewire but it just stays on connecting for ages and wont connect. I think it is because of the netgear firewall but i dont kow how to change the setiings, it might be that negear have blocked it totally but im really not sure please post back if you know anything thanks

Forward the port 6346.

Note that LW can configure UPnP activated routers by itself, and that some Netgear routers support UPnP... Your problem is probably because of software firewalls on your computer like zonalarm or Norton.

thanks for the info but it cant be a firewall like norton or one of those because i only have one firewall and i have tryed turning it off but it still won'nt work. I will try your solution for the router though thanks

nope it still does not connect it just says a firewall is blocking limewire from connecting to the enternet never mind though thanks anyway
