Very Odd Problem

I tried looking through the boards for this, so forgive me if I am just asking the same thing being asked over and over again. I couldn't find anything that completely matched what was happening to me so here goes:

For a while I could use LW without any problems, then one day I opened the program and it seemed to open fine, but it was just a blank window that opened. And then the little box came up asking me to upgrade, cept....it was also blank.

When I moved the mouse pointer over the LW icon in my system tray, a few things would start to show up on screen, but no real progress - I couldn't see the buttons or anything.

Obviously I did something between when it was working to when it stopped in order to cause this, but I have no clue what.

I did the whole java uninstall thing, but no luck. I also deleted my LW folder in my "documents and settings" directory and still no luck.

Any ideas what's going on?

Oh yeah, specs....I'm running WinXP with service pack 2.
