Unhappy Can't Connect...Tried Other Options...Help!!!

Hi all. I am having a problem connecting to LM. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Java as suggested in other threads (Version 1.5.0.40) and I have checked Norton to be sure that LM is not being blocked. All is permitted. I am stuck on "Loading Using Interface". This is the first time i've had this problem and i've not made any recent changes to any programs prior to this happening. Also, there was an error on my computer at the bottom corner saying something about "DLL"??? I didn't pay attention to it until I saw mention of this in another thread. In that thread there was a link to DLL-FILES.COM, but have no idea what DLL file i'm missing if any. I am VERY confused as I have no idea what DLL is or means. Please offer me some assistance with this. Thanks so much!!!

FYI: I am working from Windows XP; Nortons Antivirus; Broadband connection; Java 1.5.0.40 version

There is also mention of changing the Java version to an earlier version that worked better with LM. Is this another option? Also, There's also suggestions uninstall and reinstall LM. Is there a way to do this and be sure not to have to repay for the services?
