uni connection
 

hiya

i'm at bham uni and have set up my internet connection and wish to use limewire however it appears that limwire is having trouble connecting. i heard that alot of uni's have stopped file sharing programs, is this the case? if so is there a way around it? i have limewire 4.9.30 and java 1.4.2_05. also i have a tosh laptop 1.70 GHz, 512MB RAM, with xp home edition running. would be very grateful if anyone could help.

Ask around your uni nicely. Perhaps someone else knows the policy there, and when you may be allowed to connect (or not).

A pint while the network admins are relaxing can be useful, but surely they've announced the rules for using the uni connection somewhere on their network.
