Question "Not Fully Connected"

Ok...my limewire hasn't been working for the last 2 weeks, i've been to FAQ'S and everything else but nothing worked. I have no idea what the problem is, i can click the limewire icon, and it pops up, but when i go to search this window will pop up saying "LimeWire is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network." So i'll do the search anyway, and nothing happens. This is probably a really stupid question, and the answer is probably something really simple, but if anyone can help me please do.

If you are connecting from the military base, check with some of the network guys if filesharing is allowed. Sounds like they are blocking connections to the gnutella network.

Take your computer over to your friend's place, and try your machine with his internet cable. If that works, then you know the problem is outside your machine.

If it doesn't, compare your friend's settings with yours, especially the options->advanced->Firewall configurations.

Since you've read the FAQ's and stickies, I'm not sure what else you could try without more detailed info.

Get a copy of his gnutella.net file from his preferences folder. It contains the list of connections that work for him.

I doubt it will work, but with luck, that will get you connected and you won't have to lug the machine next door

well, I wouldn't want to guess where your thingy might be plugged into

Still, you are able to post here, so obviously the internet connection is still working. Are you using USB, an ethernet cable or is it wireless?

Perhaps the connection was overloaded: if that's the case, time for the Windows virus/spyware checker and all that horrible other stuff Windows users have to troubleshoot
