 Search Button doesn't work! Hi - I've just downloaded LimeWire Basic and for some reason the Search button is greyed out, meaning I can't search for anything. Can anyone help? I know it's probably something really simple, but I'm very new to this and not that computer literate, so please don't blind me with science!!!! Thanks.  |

| have you tried typing in a seach item and pushing the button? The buttons in Java( the system used for Limwewire) are not always quite like other butons

| I would suggest deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire (sample images at bottom of that post!)  Next time you open LW, leave everything set to default except for speed connection. Then see if it's still greyed out. Also make sure LW says you're connected. And did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)

| Many thanks for that - tried it, but it didn't work, and then I discovered why - I hadn't actually downloaded the LimeWire software properly! (Told you I wasn't very good on a computer!!!) Anyway, I've since downloaded it properly and, so far, I haven't been able to muck it up again! Once again, many thanks for your help.  |
