URGENT :firewall problem hi everyone, I have LimeWire 4.9.33 and it connects perfectly,the problem i have is that i still have the firewall icon(which is a wall in front of the globe at the buttom in limewire) in the firewall status in LimeWire,and its limiting the bandwidth when i download anything,i can tell cuz the download speed used to be 4 or 5 times faster,i disabled the firewall from the firewall settings(i have windows XP) and i added the port on TCP and UDP protocols,and the problem is still there,i believe it happened once i was in skool,and i was connected (not wirelessly,but with a connection cable) and eversince this problem apeared,plz help me .. hi! unfortunately i dont reply to u in order to provide a solution but just to tell u that i experience exactly the same problem as i have a university connection. Have u already found any solution on this?? i d appreciate if u let me know and I can also do the same if i finally solve the problem! kind regards |
Sounds like your school was the problem. They will filter speeds or block p2p sharing. Here's an example of how a p2p bandwidth shaper can work against Gnutella: Bandwidth Shaper Sample - typical of how some ISP's use it (click on link) ie: giving priority to net surfing & low priorities to p2p sharing.
