![]() Everytime I try to dl the LW software I lose my internet connection. The LW bar pops up saying its connecting or dling info and then I get booted. Everytime this happens I have to unplug my cable modem and reset it. |

![]() Use the same tips as here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=47448 I'm not fully understanding your problem. Are you trying to install LW or having difficulty with loss of connection for LW? Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Speed & tick Disable Ultrapeer Capabilities. Also reduce the download & upload speeds to perhaps 80-90% of your ability. You can find out your practical speed here http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/speedtest/ Don't use the Resume button on all incomplete files. This can have side-fx such as affect LW's connection quality. May queue your files for much much longer. This will also stress LW & your comp. If you use Resume/Find sources then just apply it to a couple or so at one time.

![]() I cant even get to the search screen at all. After I dled the LW software the icon appeared on my desktop. I clicked on that to begin the install. While it was trying to install I got kicked off my internet. This happens everytime I try to install LW. Other file sharing sites in the past such as WINMX and a few others have worked fine. |

![]() Alot of the same stuff is happening to me as described here but I cant even get it to dl.I get kicked off my internet before it begins the dl. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=45989 |

![]() That's why I recommended the "Offline" installation for both Java & LW. See my tips in my 1st link. Offline meaning you're installing from the computer & not over the net. And get the offline installer from here http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

![]() Not sure what you mean by offline installer but the link for LW you gave me is where I dled it from. Im not home now and will try this later but thats the same site I used to dl it. I think I understand you now. When you dl from that site it sends it to your desktop then you double click on it to begin the dl. Its then that I get disconnected from the internet and have to reset my modem. |

![]() This is what I meant by the offline installer http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...731#post169731 Unfortunately it's not offered for either the beta or pro downlds. It's the 2nd Windows installer option. And is recommended for those who have difficulties installing online such as you've had.

![]() Uninstall & reinstall Java using "Offline" installer. Uninstall Java using the Add/Remove control panel. Then downld the "Offline" Java installer. Links for Java found in point #1 here: Fixes for Limewire I believe you have a corrupt or incomplete Java installation. BTW if you have a cable connection & you're having problems downlding simple software online, then I would check this out much closer. Your modem/router may be failing you or there's a line problem. Check your connections to make sure everything is plugged in ok & the cable is not damaged. It might even be a fault in your card in the comp.
