These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Commercial weblinks cannot be used under any circumstances and will result in an immediate ban. 13. Dual accounts are not allowed. Cannot explain this more simply. Attempts to set up dual accounts will most likely result in a banning of all forum accounts. 14. Video links may only be posted after you have a tally of two forum posts. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. 15. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. this just in, limewire works for me again everyone try it out and see what happens. if it doesn't work, call your local techie (http://www.cablevision.com/index.jht...ype=phone_list) make sure they have your name/address on the bill and you make it clear that your firewall/router isn't the problem (even lie and say you don't have a firewall and you're connected straight to the internet) and that will probably get your problem solved. cheers |

Don't u people read my post I am an optonline techie i work for them i have been saying for the past 2 days that there is a problem and we are working on it. Just chill...i use limwire as well and im not too happy aobut it either..the more people who call in it about and get info the faster we can get it back up and running. |

Interesting Ok well i called up the cable tech guy and basically told him the problem about blocking the p2p networks, he basically denied that they never block or monitor any p2p networks and i told him it only happened since i got cable and all of a sudden under the connections tab in limewire as i'm talkin to this guy i get a connection, from where but from opt online it's a fair connection but still won't let me download anything, but it's still funny how they deny all this and i get connected through limewire from a opt online connection |

have Optimum Online and Norton Antivirus firewall. Just like many other users with the same ISP provider, I began to experience connection problems with my Limewire and Kazaa. I still can't connect to my Kazaa However, after endless tinkering, I was able to establish connection to Limewire. Now I'm not computer savvy, I just played around with the many suggestions found on this board. At first I couldn't connect at all. Then after days of trying few things, I managed to get fair and then good connection. Today, I managed to get all the way up to the Turbo-charged and I hope that this will last. After going through all this, I'm still faced with the same problem. I can't seem to download. Before, I used to have Limewire light. I got search results within seconds and was able to download songs within minutes. Now that I've updated to Limewire PRO I have more headaches than with the last version. 1. If I do get results, there are only few options, even for popular artsist like Madonna. Fewer search results often leads to "more sources" needed when I try to download a song that is very popular and should give me at least 100 hit results. 2. Limewire search used to be lightning quick. For some reason, now it takes forever. Is there a bug in the PRO version? 3. The biggest problem when I finally do receive some results, and click to download, my downloads display "Connecting..." message for every single download. It's been hours and the message is still the same. Does anyone have some words of wisdom on how I can address this problem. In Limewire lite, even results with 1-2 people per song were downloadable. Now, results with 17-30 hits per song can give me "needs more sources" message. Usually after the search I get the following cascade for songs with fewer #... 1. Connecting.. 2. Waiting for busy host for 15-30 min 3. Need more sources 4. Looking for more sources 5. Awaiting sources Songs with greater number of feedback 50-150 tend to have Connecting... message hours upon hours until they time out or "need more sources" appears again. I don't know if this is the problem with Limewire PRO or has something to do with the fact that many people have lost their connection recently. I've read that other posters seem to have fixed the problem. Is it just me or are people still having download issues even after they managed to connect with great speed (excellent to turbo-charged)? |
