But if optimum is indeed blocking p2p how come some of their users can go into limewire without a problem |
What users??? |
It is called filtering or shaping I believe they monitor your usage if you use to much bandwith they can cut you off or limit you. The links below may help. http://www.sandvine.com/products/p2p_element.asp http://www.ipp2p.org/docu_en.html |
hello everyone I will let you know that its a problem between limewire and optimum online. My fiancee who has ool and a few friends with ool are able to connect. Its probably on certain nodes that are having problems. OOL is doing some upgrades so that could be it. We'll just have to wait and find an answer and see what happens..but definitely noones computers or firewalls is the issue..i redid my whole pc, did not isntall firewalls and did not connect my router..and no gnutella programs work at all... |
Also ool is not blocking p2p networks and or filtering people..you may getting capped or blocked if you abuse it and upload of files between a certain amount of time. So ur not being blocked otherwise i would fall into that category and i work for ool and i know im not capped or blocked.. |
The problem IS coming from OOL...they just told me. Check my other post. |
