Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. Can you tell us your Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
3. Which ISP (Internet Service Provider) do you normally go thru?
4. Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)
5. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?
6. So you set LW up to use a proxy. Have you ever been properly connected before?
7. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
8. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
These details are vital if you want us to find out what your connection problem is.

We need to know what the make and model of your router is many routers have NAT firewalls built into them.

You said you configured your firewall what firewall are you using.

Also where did you get Pro from and how much did you pay for it. The reason I ask is because there are allot of scam sites out there and allot of people get scammed. It is possible it isn't the official version and could be hacked.

The model is a Lynksys (sp?). My landlord doesn't know the make and model (it's lodged under the house somewhere), but he says the product claims it has a built in firewall.

The firewall I am using is the one built into Windows XP.

I bought the Pro from LimeWire PRO. I paid $18.88 for it. My confirmation email was from sales@limewire.com.

The firewall in the router is probably blocking you.

Is limewire set to use UPnP mode. With LimeWire open you can check by going to tools/options/Advanced/Firewall Config. Most Linksys routers work pretty well with UPnP.
