Limewire just wouldn't function, so I installed Morpheous. I have no problems now. Thanks. |
Jeez i hope i wont have to use a different program but i guess i might have to :( |
Ok bye then! Good luck. Obviously LW doesn't work on your systems. That can happen with some progs. Just like morheus refuses to work on my system. No great loss. lol :D BTW I think you missed my last point in my last post. After moving up to LW 4.10 & having deleted your LW prefs folder once, your new prefs will no longer be called .limewire & will be found in a new location. But of course you tried that didn't you. I was just a little curious how you gave up after only deleting the .limewire folder which belonged to your previous version. lol :D |
Okay i deleted the other folder u mentioned to make sure and it still doesnt work :( maybe i should just get a new computer:D |
this is killing me. I have done all the steps listed. Java, unloading re loading both programs etc. I don't want to give up! I want to use this program as I have enjoyed it in the past! Now it won't work :(... Please will a kind soul please help me figure this out? you will get great karma for the weekend! :) |
1994Canucks, Is the blank screen your only prob? Did you follow stief's advice about a stack trace (in the other thread you posted to): http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...347#post185347 Think carefully about whether you've tried all fixes from this thread and the one above. Good luck |
How To Get Stack Traces "Stack Traces are debugging information you can get LimeWire that is very helpful in tracking various bugs. If you are reporting a problem with the LimeWire beta series, you may be asked at one point or another to help us by providing such Stack Trace. Here are instructions how to get those: On Windows: 1. Download www.limewire.org/LimeWireDebug.exe and save it in C:\Program Files\LimeWire (or wherever you installed LimeWire) 2. Start LimeWire by opening a dos prompt and typing code:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------LimeWireDebug.exe >> stdout.txt-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Whenever you want to get a stack trace, switch to the dos box where you typed the above, and hit Ctrl-Break. 4. Close limewire and send us or post the stdout.txt file. " I download it to the folder but am unable to load LimeWireDebug.exe>> stdour.txt I must be doing something wrong?? |
Ok whatever you're doing wrong, I'm doin' it too!! Think it's time for the gurus to come & help out:eek: Be patient & hopefully someone will come to your rescue. Sorry I couldn't help! |
Thanks for trying... I still want this to work... |
Fixed!!!! So happy. Took a couple hours though. What I ended up doing was doing an offline download of the old java 1.4 And the old limewire. And erased the setting profile of my username. I then upgraded lw once i saw that the old one worked! Hope that helps someone. B |
