So.

What ISP are you giving money to?

ISP = Internet Service Provider

ie: Who are you connecting thru?

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
4. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
5. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
6. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
7. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)?
8. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
9. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

FRIENDS January 2nd, 2006 05:51 AM

1.Windows XP Home Edition
2.Norton Interent Security 2005 and Windows Firewall
3.Broadband
4.I dont know that? BT
5.From home
6.Limewire 4.10.0 Java 1.4.2_05
7.IE
8.No
9.'Your test worked!'

IE = Internet Explorer; a browser. The question was which internet company do you connect thru? You can't connect to the internet unless you or your parents pay for the service.

Open a new page on your browser & type in http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar. Now you'll need to log into the BT modem device. By default the username is admin, and the password is admin. Click the Ok button to log in to your router. Once in, look for options which show UPnP (Universal Plug & Play.) Once you find it, make sure it's enabled (ticked.) If not then tick it & save changes/Apply button. If there is no UPnP option, then please have a close look at the device & tell us the model number. It's a Voyager right? We'd need to know which model number voyager. eg: # Voyager200, or #205, or #2100, etc.

Disable your XP firewall; go to the control panel, double-click on Windows Firewall, check the disable box. If yours looks different, then see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...620#post178620

Then configure your Norton firewall to allow LW full access; see instructions here * Configuring Norton Internet Security

Now go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewall & make sure UPnP is enabled (ticked.) Now try to connect.
