Acid Mayhem is flying high
Unhappy Connecting to the network

Hello all, I am obviously a newbie and am having problems with Limewire. Downloaded it yesterday and have been fiddling about with things since then, referring to similar posts!
When I start Limewire it says I am currently connecting to the network. This doesn't change. The first bar on the lower left is green, the others red. I have followed the advice about ports on my firewall but am getting nowhere. Even disabling my firewall completely still results in the same connecting status. Limewire still states a firewall is detected.
My o/s is Windows XP Pro SP2
I connect via a cable modem (USB)
I connect from home
Limewire 4.10.3. Java (1.5.0_06)
My ISP is NTLWORLD (UK)
I have the Windows firewall. (I have added the Gnutella ports detailed in Limewire to my firewall and checked the boxes)
I have Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition (this does not have internet security)
Never tried Limewire or any other P2P application before.
I would be very grateful if anyone has any other suggestions to help me out.
Thanks in anticipation !

Chances are it's related to your connection devices which most likely have internal firewalls. See if you can log into the device using your browser & enable UPnP if it supports UPnP. Otherwise you may need to manually port forward. Get a guide from here Connection problems? Check here first!
