To aid helpers in solving download/upload problems, LimeWire and Frostwire users must specify whether they are downloading a torrent file or a file from the Gnutella network. These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit or used for commercial advertising. Commercial weblinks cannot be used under any circumstances and will result in an immediate ban. 13. Dual accounts are not allowed. Cannot explain this more simply. Attempts to set up dual accounts will most likely result in a banning of all forum accounts. 14. Video links may only be posted after you have a tally of two forum posts. Apple Airport Extreme for Mac users An adopted article adapted here: 1) UPnP UPnP, which stands for Universal Plug and Play, is a massively complex standard that does about a million different things. Among all these different capabilities lies the Internet Gateway Device protocol, which allows LimeWire to ask the router to open required ports for it. By default this is usually port 6346. UPnP is supported by most home routers made in the last couple of years, with the notable exception of Apple's Airport Base Stations. 2) NAT-PMP NAT-PMP happened when Apple looked at the giant mess that is UPnP and decided they'd rather make their own protocol. They were a little slow in getting it out, but as of July 2005 with Airport 4.2, Apple's Airport Extreme and Airport Express base stations now support it. It's completely unrelated to UPnP, but the end result is the same, and you, the user, should not see any difference. Unfortunately, NAT-PMP is off by default. To enable it, first make sure you have Airport 4.2 or later (available in Software Update), then run the AirPort Admin Utility. If it asks you to update your base station's firmware, make sure that you do so, as NAT-PMP requires the latest firmware. Go to the "AirPort" tab and click the "Base Station Options..." button. In the sheet that drops down, turn on the "Enable NAT Port Mapping Protocol" checkbox in the "Ethernet Port Security" tab. Ignore the erroneous note Apple has placed regarding 10.4 - LimeWire will work with NAT-PMP on OS X 10.3 as well (see sample image below.) Click OK, then click Update and the router will restart. As with UPnP, you'll have to restart LimeWire for it to be able to see the change. 3) If you have problems with NAT-PMP or your OSX version doesn't support it, then you may need to manually forward the necessary port for LimeWire. Oh ... Command comma. ⌘ , or click on the LimeWire name next to the apple icon at the top left of menu bar & a menu will appear. Choose preferences. Then go to Advanced>Firewall Configuration. Sample image though that sample is for port forwarding. For NAT-PMP choose UPnP in LW. |

Is your OSX firewall active? If yes, is it configured to allow LW full access? See instructions at the top of this thread Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link) Also, I'm not sure about airport. I do know some devices you need to reboot in order to properly save the settings (as in my router.) Check your settings were properly saved in airport manager. Also consider temporarily disconnecting the airport. I'm not sure how it operates so ... Also consider rebooting computer. Also, are there any other connection devices besides the airport? |

i don't have the airport base thing... it's really just my laptop... i'm not sure how it's connecting to the internet. like i said, i think it's picking up my neighbor's signal and connecting that way... thanks for your help... i'll keep trying!!! |

hmmm... I am Trying to set up limewire on my new macbook, this is my first time using a mac so forgive me if I am apple ignorant. I went to Airport admin utility It did not ask me to update probably because I run updater often. but I did not see an "Airport" Tab. Or anything like Base Station options...
