I need help!!! I have recently downloaded limewire for the first time and it won't work for me. It opens but when I try to search, the message, "Limewire is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network." appears, but it never fully connects. I have tried everything to fix the problem, I reconfigured my firewall, I have Norton by the way, and a lot of other things. I know my school allows p2p because it works fine for my roommate. I am so frustrated...please help me!!!! Oh and also, I have Windows XP. |
Don't try searching until Limewire has finished loading...it may take a few moments for your connections to finish handshaking. Under the "View" tab: You can show your connections. If you are not getting any connections there is something blocking the port. If you have norton internet security, try disabling it, if you have norton internet worm protection, or the windows default firewall, add the specific port to your exceptions list. If you are using a router, try port forwarding or advanced routing to open the specific port you are using. Try those, Good Luck! |
Thanks for replying... I tried turning off my firewall, but the same message comes up. Also when I checked the connections tab, it shows that I don't have any. It stays that way even though I run limewire for awhile. |
Please post your system information, what router/firewall you are using and who your Internet Service Provider is; it is possible that your ISP may be blocking P2P. |
