college connection problem
 

I have gotten limewire in the beginning of my school semester at first it worked fine with all connection bars on green, a few months later it was just one connection bar green and it would stay there. it would go up a few bars now and then but it will always go down to that one bar. i can only download songs but i cant download video clips and movies because it says that it is currently trying to connect to the network. my internet connection is not slow or nothin. i just cant stand downloading something then the connection bars would go down to that last green bar and i cant download nothin but songs. the firewall icon is always on and i dont have a firewall active im workin on a windows 2000.whats goin on?
