My Limewire has just never connected for the past 2 weeks My Limewire...2 weeks ago I opened it up and it just never connected. The day before and all those days, months before it worked. It cannot be a firewall because it worked when I had my firewall on and it was working perfectly. Anybody know what is going on? I tried deleting my prefences but still nothing. |
Let me guess are you an Optimum Online customer becuase the same thing has been happening to me and some others I advise you to call them or look in this thread for answers http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...=&pagenumber=1 |
Whoa I guess I'll take a look then since you just read my internet connection O_o |
Xcellent guess. Sorry, as the site admin I'm privy to that type of info. Yes you do definitely have an isp problem! :( |
Dang so far nothing has worked at ALL. >:O I'm getting angry at OOL. |
Another more recent but not only recent thread is this one http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=49547 But if you use the forum search button above & type in Optimum then you'll find a lot more threads about this topic. One of them has an employee of optimum online answering some of the queries! ;) |
Lord of the rings....... u seem pretty knowledgeable when it comes to limewire. Im at my wits end with it. My ISP is Plusnet, rang them today and they tell me they do not block p2p, i got os XP, plenty of HD space, tried running limewire with XP firewall both on and off to no avail. Please help! I did try something last week ( dont know why i did it ) i put limewire in my list of trusted sites and hey presto! it worked for about 2 days..... now nothing. Just says: Cannot establish a connection or a firewall is blocking it. I am connected.... obviously..... or i wouldnt be writing this. x:confused: |
I forgot to mention im on a broadband connection and my router is a netgear DG834G. :p |
Check the 1st few posts here ISP's known to BLOCK or Filter p2p or specifically Limewire (re: PLusnet) as you may be able to by-pass the issue by changing the port you connect through. Also take a close look here Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link), & check your software firewall settings & also your UPnP settings (or manual port forwarding "if" necessary!) ;) Oh .. & if you do change your connection port, you may need to also change it for your computer's software firewall. :) |
