Tiscali

Has anyone else got Tiscali?? and if so is there any way to stop them from slowing downloads down etc on P2P programs?

Im also on tiscali and to say they're **** would be an understatement. There is no way you can prevent downloads from slowing down. Mine stop altogether and i can't browse any web pages so i have to unplug and reconnect my modem about 30 times a day which isn't an exageration. Im currently trying to get out of my contract which is proving a headache.

Well I'm with Tiscali too but I'm confused.

When I had my old computer, before christmas, I had kazaa lite and I-mesh and they both had download speeds above 100kb/s, this is also when I had Norton antivirus.

I now have a new computer with McAfee antivirus on it which also includes a firewall, something which wasn't included in the Norton package. This makes me wonder could it be my firewall preventing these speeds. Another thing, when in limewire there is no wall infront of the globe icon even when I have my firewall turned on!!!

danm90,
You'll see the firewall icon if there's a firewall problem. If a firewall's preventing LW from working at it's best. It's not an indicator of whether your firewall's turned on;)

The fact that you don't see the icon shows that you've set up your McAfee firewall correctly:)
