I can connect on desktop but not on laptop

Anybody know why I can connect to LW on my desktop but not my laptop? Desktop has XP pro running LW 10.3-it is hooked up to a webstar cable modem and a DI-524 router. LW works perfectly on the desktop. The laptop I have on a D-link wireless card-firewall has exceptions for LW-I deleted the preferences folder-UPnP is enabled-the DI-524 router has updated firmware. I even tried setting up a static IP and trying to forward a port-nothing. The laptop is running XP home LW version 10.5. I did notice that when I probe port 6346 thru Shields Up it comes back as "stealth" But when I change the port it doesn't matter-still no connection. Any suggestions?

Shields up Stealth mode simply means it can't detect anything due to a firewall or other.

Make sure UPnP is enabled on the 2nd LW. Try running LW on the laptop on its own. Make sure firewall is configured on lap top to allow LW!

Whilst using the laptop, do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

Run in UPnP if possible! Port forwarding is more complicated since you need a static ip & need to forward a totally separate port to the 2nd comp to the 1st!!! eg: if you forwarded port 6346 on the desktop then you'd need to choose a different port for the laptop!

OK-I have UPnP enabled. When I click on the link you gave me it says "your test worked" I am trying this right now in a motel on an unsecured wireless network but I've tried the same test at home with the same result. When I hook up the laptop directly to the cable modem LW works fine. As a test I just tried connecting to LW on this network-no go. The signal strength is poor but yeterday I was at another motel with a very strong signal- it also would not connect. Any idea what this means?
