I read the steps on how to fix Limewire popping up... ...and one question: when I uninstall, how do I keep the music files from being unavailiable on iTunes? Thanks. |
As long as you've added the music to your iTunes library, it will still be there after LW's gone. The "your name's LimeWire Tunes" will be gone, but if the music's in your library it will stay. Is that what you mean?:) |
Well, yeah, but I've actually uninstalled/reinstalled Limewire before (though it didn't solve any virus problems), and every time I tried to play a song on iTunes it had a corrupted ! by it and popped up saying "iTunes could not locate the file. Would you like to locate it?" I had to copy-paste every song from Limewire into a new folder, and one by one locate the songs from that folder. Sorry if it's confusing, and thanks for your help. |
the ! mark in iTunes just means the song cannot be found ..as ..in your case it has apparently been moved. If all your songs that have got misslaid are together you can go in iTunes to File> add to library > highlight all the songs together and add them to iTunes library. You can chose in iTunes preferences whether or not to add them to the iTunes Folder. I hope this helps |
To start with, have a read through this thread. It's got all you'd ever want to know about moving files to iTunes:) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36230 Go through it & make sure your songs are all added correctly. I've uninstalled & reinstalled LW a few times & never had any probs with the iTunes library. About your virus prob (the LW popping up thing)... you should probably go to norbiesworld & get him to help you get rid of it. There's a link to his site in this thread http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=41432 Now I've probably confused you:D !! (Damn... beaten by a Hobo:eek: ) |
