Default Firewall blocking

All of a sudden limewire is being blocked by a firewall, it was working fine and now its not allowing traffic.

I have NIS 2004 configured to permit all for limewire and have a
cisco linksys wrt54gs router which I'm assuming is the problem, as limewire has detected a firewall all of a sudden ...

Suggestions ?

Thanks, Bruce

The linksys wrt54 is unreliable in UPnP mode which is why a special trick needs to be done to overcome the issue that UPnP is failing. So hopefully the fix will work for you also. I previously saw the same fix on a gaming site. But didn't want to post it on this forum because if novices tried it & put in the incorrect details then they could muck up their router. So I don't normally recommend such fixes as cracking the normal firmware.

I couldn't answer that. Use your instincts I guess. I'm sure there's not too much difference. But I'm not an authority on linksys or such issues. So it's a little like the legal stuff you see before you install something. Do it at your own risk. They & I accept no responsibility for any possible consequences.

It sounds like they both suffer from the same problem so ...
And the instructions will be the same I would suggest. I was a programmer once upon a time. lol
