Computer Restarts Since Using Wanadoo Wireless Hi there, I've read through quite a few of the messages in this forum but haven't been able to apply any to my situation. I have recently started using Wanadoo Broadband Max with their LiveBox wireless router. Since I started using wireless, whenever I started up LimeWire, my computer would restart. I use a laptop and the details of it are below: Toshiba Satellite Pro Windows XP Pro Intel Pentium(R) M (Centrino) 512MB RAM The wireless modem is made by Inventel (model DV4210-WU). I currently use Bitdefender as an antivirus and Windows Firewall as my firewall. I have tried disabling the firewall and starting Limewire but still have the same problem. As well as that, I have tried completely removing Bitdefender from my computer and still the same. I'm not sure how to solve this problem and I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with this. Thank you so much. Vedia |
There's a lot of info here & hopefully some of it will help you (there's a post in particular about driver issues with a wireless modem) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...tarts+computer If you're getting the dreaded blue screen, lots of info here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...tarts+computer :) |
BIG BIG THANK YOU!!! Thanks for your help Birdy. I read the information on the links regarding the blue screen of death and have since updated the Intel Pro Set Wireless from their website and LimeWire has started working again. I really appreciate your help. Thanks again. |
