Can't Connect

First of all, just to let you know, I work on Windows XP SP 2. Okay, so up until two nights ago, my Limewire was working absolutely fine. All of a sudden, it freaks out on me. It never connects anymore and when I leave it running long enough in the hopes that it might connect, it ends up just showing a message that read something like, You cannot connect to the Gnutella network at this time. However, it keeps repeating this message an infinite number of times and my computer suffers massive slowdowns, almost locking up on several occassions. I tried uninstalling Limewire, I tried deleting my preference settings as per the Sticky thread. I also deleted any programs that may have set it away as spyware or adware (like AOL spyware protection). Finally, I don't use Windows Firewall and I'm positive that my Norton Internet Security is configured properly. Oh, and I'm positive I have a connection to the internet. HELP!
