download via modem 2/3 Kbps?

Is this ok? I get only 3Kbps Max via a 53 K Modem? Wha the heck is 53 K for if so slow (I know it's 2 way but that's 10k Max)

That's OK

I've got 56k modem, the most I ever get is 4Kb/s so nothing unusual in 3Kb/s :)

The K in 53K modem stands for Kilobits per second, whilst Limewire counts in Kilobytes per second.

And since there are eight bits to a byte, then a 53K modem has a maximum throughput of about 6 or 7 Kilobytes a second, and sice it is two way, then 3k is a reasonable number.

I hope that explains it and makes sense;

Thanks SkeletonKeys - I didn't know that, now all us modem users can relax :D
