Go through the sticky at the top of this page, the first part "... check here first". Make sure your firewall's configured properly. Do the port test & see what result you get. Read the info about internal firewalls within routers, does your router have one?

What are your details

OS(Win XP etc)
LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see)
Firewall you're using
Modem/router brand & model
ISP
Connection type (DSL etc)
Where you connect from (home, school etc)
Are you sharing a connection with other computers
Is this your first try with LW

Within LW, go tools > options > bug reports > view example. Scroll down to 'recieved incoming this session'. Is it true or false?

Please don't double post.

Hello And Thank You For Your Suggestions. Ive Tried Them And Nothing Helps. I'm Frustrated Because My Computer Was Working Fine With Lw. Like Ive Stated It Was An Out Of The Blue Occurance. I Know Its Not My Firewall. By The Way I Have Win Xp Firewall. Could The Problem Be With Limewrire Itself. Should I Just Wait It Out?
What Do You Mean By My Ip Might Be Blocking. If That Were The Case Than Why Was It Working Perfectly Until A Few Days Ago??
Hope Soneone Can Help
Thanks,

Frustrated...

Hi sidney

if you could provide Birdy with the details she has asked you for, then she might be able to give you some helpful advice. Otherwise it would be difficult.
The fact that LW worked well before and now it doesn't could be a hint that your ISP (Internet Service Provider) has changed its attitude towards P2P clients. This can happen suddenly without any notification from their side (as it happened to me; a shaping down of my bandwidth use since 2 month).

You need to give us a little more info if you want us to try and figure out your problem. Remember we are not sitting in front of your computer, you are.

As birdy suggested it could be your ISP. Usually when a person has a problem all of the sudden, after having no problems before. It is a good indicator that your ISP has started blocking or filtering your connection. But not always. We can not assist without the proper info. It would only be a guess.

Can you give us a total description of your set up:
1. OS version? (Eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (Eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your ISP provider? ( AOL/MSN/Comcast/Tiscal)
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
11. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?
These details are vital if you want us to find out what your connection problem is.

* Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other. http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

12. Do This test, Is the result True/False?
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...757#post103757 Is the result True/False

13. Do a speed test post the results here.

OK you are behind a firewall but we need to find out where. What is the brand name and model number of your Modem and or Router. Your Cabelvision wouldn't happen to be supplied by Optimum Online by any chance.
