plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, nobody is answering me!!! I really need help!!!!!! |
Choose nearest location for a speed test & only have your browser open: http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/speedtest/ Do NOT have LW open whilst you do this test. I've heard of problems of connecting or with speeds in Lebanon before. You're using a dial up connection right? Or at least a very slow speed plan? You need to be more specific about your modem & or router brand & models. ;) BTW if the speed test gives you the speed in kbps (kilo bits per second) then you need to divide that figure by 8 to give you KB/s (KiloBytes per second) |
I entered the link you gave me but it says "none known. please tell us if you can find one" when I enter lebanon. No, I'm not using a dial-up connection. I'm using cable, but yes my connection speed is very slow. Full explanation of my connection: I use LAN or high-speed connection. description: local area connection: Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC. When I want to connect, I use another Icon named "cable"(Broadband) and it says that its connecting through WAN miniport PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) The computer always says that an ip adress is conflicting with another network on the system. This is something strange:: it says the speed of the cable is 100.0 Mbps, but the connection is slow and the downloads (not the ones with limewire) are between 11 and 13 kb/s the cable is not on satellite but wire the isp is Realtek Semiconductor Corp. |
Try an experiment, downld a magnet link from here & tell us all the details of what happens, variation in speeds, etc. http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml |
First of all, it doesn't show the size of the file. The file doesn't download and it says : waiting for stable connections. When i opened LW this time, the download speed was only one bar (but i was connected) Sometimes when the download finally starts, but the speed is so slow, it's between 1 and 3 kb/s. Files i download without using limewire have a speed that starts with about ~300 but then go down too quickly to arrive to a speed between 11 and 13or 14 kb/s and it stays stable. |
What's the result of this speed test: http://specials.zdnet.co.uk/misc/ban...eedtest50.html |
2170.2Kbps ....................why?? katz x |
Every time I click refresh the speed changes It was first 50kbytes per second(6.1 kb/sec) then ~80kbytes per second( ~10 kb/sec) then 92kbytes per second( 11.3 kb/sec).... and it keeps changing (sometimes lower, but most of the higher) |
Did you have Limewire open at the time? Best not to for accurate results. I wonder if it's due to inconsistent line between you & the ISP, etc. Your inconsistent speeds is a part of your normal use of the internet which is odd. I'm thinking this is either an isp or line problem. BTW the initial figures you gave should be kbits/s not kbytes. The 2nd figure in brackets is KBytes. |
Yes lime wire was open at this time. When i refreshed this time(limewire closed), the speed was 116.7 Kbps (14.3 K bytes/sec) |
All times are GMT -7. The time now is 11:51 PM. |
