I can't get rid of this firewall

Ever since i downloaded limewire(4.10), it detected a firewall(brick in front of the earth). I tried everything and I've benn looking for three days in this forum for an answer, but nothing helped me. I use cable. sometimes a little icon comes and says: "your ip adress is conflicting with another system"(something like that). when i download, the spedd is between 0 kb/s:eek: and 4kb/s. Can anybody help me? Plz:(

There's probably 3 issues.
1. Your software firewall(s)
2. Your modem/router may have an internal NAT firewall.
3. Your isp may be affecting issues.

Have a look through this link for some guidance: Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link)

Thank you for your help, but just how exactly can i know if i have an internal NAT firewall, and how can i configure it?
If my problem is with the isp, how can it be solved?
I disabled all my firewalls: Norton firewall and windows firewall.
Hope someone can help

You'll need to give some details

OS(Win XP etc)
LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see)
Firewall you're using
Modem/router brand & model
ISP
Connection type (DSL etc)
Where you connect from (home, school etc)
Are you sharing a connection with other computers
Is this your first try with LW

Do this port test & tell us the result http://www3.limewire.com:6346

Within LW, go tools > options > bug reports > view example. Scroll down to 'recieved incoming this session'. Is it true or false?

Something is blocking LW's default port, could be your ISP. That's your internet service provider... who is the company that you pay for your internet service?

Try to download a file from here & see what speed you get

Glad it gave you a laugh:D
Yeah, there are better things to do than mop the floors!!

youssef karam April 19th, 2006 10:24 AM

My ISP is : Realtek Semiconductor Corp. ( I live in Lebanon)
The download is hyper slow( 1 or 2 or even 0 kb/s) :(
Should I contact the provider to know any further explanations on this problem?

youssef karam April 19th, 2006 01:26 PM

One more question: how can I know my internet speed? (If you can, please give me more than one link because -I keep saying it- I live in lebanon.)
