Problems with limewire for ages now

Hi

I've tried everything I think: I've looked at my personal firewall on Norton and its set to permit all, and i've followed the instructions in the sticky thread, and limewire still won't connect. I've also tried uninstalling it and re-installing, but still nothing. It's really bugging me now cause I've been without it for 6 weeks. What else can I do? Any help would be appreciated, but please put simply cause I only have a basic knowledge of how everything runs!:p

Thanks

Jo x

Is there anything wrong with my PC?

I used to use Limewire everyday. DUring my summer trip, I did not use Limewire for 5 weeks. When I got back, I was able to turn on Limewire but the Limewire window was blank. I thought I needed to download the latest Limewire basic. I downloaded the new Limewire basic, but it stays the same. The program is able to run somehow, but I am unable to see all of the buttons and functions. Basically it's all gray, and if it works it laaaags so bad. I never experienced this when I used limewire before. I have DSL and my provider is Verizon with WIndows XP and etc. Firewall is off too. Can someone please help me :( :( . Thank You.
