![]() I have read all there is to be read and tried all there is to be tried which is possible based on the knowledge i hold. When i click Limewire i get this error- "Limewire was unable to initialize and start. This is usually do to a firewall program blocking Limewires access to the internet or loop back connections on the local machine. Please allow Limewire access to the internet and restart Limewire." I have turned off all firewalls, and i believe it is my ISP. Stats- Windows XP SP 2 Verizon Provider D Link Router- DI-624 Please help me i have been reading and trying for weeks |

![]() Your router probably has a firewall. Have you tried setting up your router for UPnP. Try the instructions here: http://support.dlink.ca/ProductFAQView.asp?FAQID=1004 More info here: Connection problems? Check here first!

![]() My other thought would be that your isp is shaping/blocking p2p, but I have Verizon also and don't have any problems. You could call them and ask though they may not tell you if they do ![]()

![]() Have you tried the fixes in here: Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should!. Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed point #2 in that link.

![]() You could try to Port Forward.. This link will take you to the instructions you need to do this for your DI-624 http://www.portforward.com/english/r...4/Limewire.htm |

![]() Just remember there's a DI 624 and a DI 624+ (I'm guessing this version is an upgrade?) on the portforward page. Have you ever done the port test to check whether LW's default port is blocked? http://www3.limewire.com:6346 ![]() |
