Your search may not return many results untill fully connected to the network." how long will i wait so that lime wire be fully connected? Or is it really just a matter of waiting or a connection problem? Please help!!! |
It shouldn't take too long. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Can you give us a total description of your set up: 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) 2. What firewalls you have? 3. How much ram? 4. Hard Disk space available? 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? 8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)? 10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. 11. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? |
here is my description!! 1. OS =XP 2. Firewalls =Windows and Mcafee but both disabled 3. RAM =256MB 4. You didn't tell us answer about the firewall icon & brick wall or the answer to Q.11 I don't know a lot about proxy connections. Did you set proxy settings up in LW? Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Advanced>Proxies. |
oh yes, am sorry, there's a firewall icon or a brick wall on the LW and Q 11. the page shows "Your test worked" I already set the settings of proxy in the LW's menu hope to hear from you..... |
If both XP & McAffee firewalls are disabled then the firewall is most likely coming from your connection device I suspect. Most high speed modems & routers have internal NAT firewalls. You need to find out if yours has UPnP support (universal plug & play), & make sure it is enabled. More info about UPnP here Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link) |
