Question A couple of things

When I connect, I only connect to 5 ultrapeer connections. I am on a cable modem. What are the best settings for me on LimeWire? I have the latest version. On one occasion, I was able to connect to about 11 servers. But only once. And I also seem to connect to the same servers. I have a bunch of incomplete files waiting to get back to the particular place to complete them. How do I connect to more and different servers? I looked in the user guide and FAQ and unless I missed it, the answer is not in there. So I am kind of confused.

Thanx much!

There are no servers. Gnutella Network doesn't work with "real" servers. Every host of a file (i.e. people like you and me) functions as "little" server.
In other words, if the host(s) of your file isn't online, has moved the file, has deleted the file or has renamed it, then you won't be able to continue your download.
The number of hosts depends on how many people share this file under the same file name and size. Sometimes you have to be patient when downloading files with only a view hosts.

If you have LW Pro you'll connect to 5 ultrapeers, if you have basic then 3 ultrapeers (if you're connected as a leaf). These connections you'll see in the Connections window & are totally different to the sources (aka hosts) which you download from. There are no servers, just other computers.

If you have LW Pro & a T3 connection it's possible to download from 14 hosts, providing they have free upload slots. A cable/dsl or T1 connection maxes out at 10 hosts. Not too sure about a modem connection. LW basic can connect to 8 hosts.

The best way to find new sources for download is to search again. Vary your search terms, try the All Types category, search at different times of day (as hosts in other time zones log on & off, new sources will become available).

There's a lot of helpful advice about configuring LW here
