Can you give us a total description of your set up: 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) 2. What firewalls you have? 3. How much ram? 4. Hard Disk space available? 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? 8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)? 10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. 11. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. 12. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? ;) |
1. Windows XP profesional 2. Don't Have one 3. 512 Mb 4. 1-2 GB 5. Cable 6. Motorola & Linksys befsr81. (already try to set up the setting) 7. Home 8. Limewire 4.11.4 & Java 1.5.0_06 9. Mynet ( Indonesian Local Provider) 10. Yes, Using the router. 11. New PRoblem, about 3 months 12. Your Test Worked. PLease Help me.. |
The test worked means that your ISP doesn't block the port LW is using. However XP has a built-in firewall. So, I assume that you see a brickwall in front of the small globe in the left bottom corner of the LW window. To configurate the XP firewall go and read here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=51361 In case that this is not the issue, try to delete your " .limewire " preference folder (Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire). http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36420 ;) |
Nope i already turn off my firewall. And i already delete my ".limewire" 3 times.. >.< |
Try getting more space on your harddisk Also try checking the box for incoming searches in your monitor window (even if you are connected as a leaf) worked for me :) BTW I see lots of searches and that keeps limewire from disconnecting Search for something even if you're not looking to download anything new. It helps Limewire stay connected. (especially when trying to connect) Also if you have a lot of incomplete files, it's a good idea to delete the entire incomplete folder. Helps Limewire finds and continue the files you're downloading easier. |
Ok.. I Try It. |
bro.. Suddenly my LW lose connection, and won't start connection again.. ? Why?? |
If it doesn't connect soon after you press connect, then try pressing disconnect, wait 10 seconds and then press connect. try it a few times. Remember to search for something while doing it. If this doesn't work either then I'm all out of ideas. Haven't had that many problems connecting :) BTW when you try to connect. look at your connections window to see if it is really connectiong. You should see about 10 IP's changing all the time until you are connected. |
