Connection Problems
 

I am very upset. I payed for a 2 year subscrition to LimeWire & now I can not download music, because of connection problems. I have never had this problem until recently. I did change my dsl provider & maybe this is Why? I keep getting an error message that states: Your machine does not appear to have an active Internet Connection or a firewall is blocking LimeWire from accessing the internet. LimeWire will automatically keep trying to connect you to the network. I do have an active internet connection. I do not understand what has happened. It really sucks when you can't find a phone number for technical support for LimeWire. I reallly think this is bad customer service on their part. Is there someone out there that has a phone number for LimeWire where I can get live assistance? Please advise. Thank - You.

your seem to be experiencing the same problem I am. Though I haven't changed providers, just updated my LW version. I don't know of any phone numbers, but keep your eye on replies to my thread as well as yours. A fix is bound to come our way.

Mine won't connect either and believe me I've read and tried everything. Ports,Firewalls,latest Java, deleting SP2, you name it. Un-installing, re-installing you name it. It worked fine for about a year then all of a sudden it just wouldn't connect? I went so far as to install it on my laptop and it won't work I even wiped the OS and tried loading LW again. Nothing?
It seems there are lot's of suggestions but nothing seems to work, there is a serious bug that affects some and not others I have friends that have no problems at all very frustrating.

Well, i am able to connect now. I really don't know what I did. It was either the Norton firewall thing that I read on another message in this forum or the fact that I put in that 6349 number in the port box from another message in the forum. I am not sure, but I am up and running just fine now. It may have been my phone & modem line because for the past few days it was all static & my phone company came & switched the lines & now my line is clear & I get connected to LW and have already downloaded 2 cd's. Wish I could be of more help to you. If you have norton anti-virus on your PC go to the the message about what to do on that. It's worth a try if you have not tried that already.
