The answer might be here:
http://www.speedtouch.com/supfaq576R53.htm
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../Smilywais.gif

And this link could be helpful if the other doesn't show you how to disable the firewall:

boblyuk July 8th, 2006 08:08 AM

hey sorry to ask a lot of questions but what does this mean,

The only way to completely disable the firewall on all hook points is to execute the command through the CLI with the following command:
:firewall config state disabled

thankyou

foolofthehill July 8th, 2006 08:19 AM

CLI means command line interface. Go here and scoll down till you see your model number, there is the user guide of the CLI:

boblyuk July 8th, 2006 08:40 AM

is this what i should do http://www.speedtouch.com/documentat...cli&topic=init ive been on firewall comands shall i go on firewall clear or firewall config

thank you so much

foolofthehill July 8th, 2006 09:11 AM

I'd say you use this one:

firewall config

Configure the firewall options.
SYNTAX:

firewall config

[state = <{disabled | enabled}>]

[keep = <{disabled | enabled}>]

[tcpchecks = <{none | fast | exact}>]

[udpchecks = <{disabled|enabled}>]

[icmpchecks = <{disabled | enabled}>]

[logdefault = <{disabled | enabled}>]

[logthreshold = <{disabled | enabled}>]

[tcpwindow = <number{0-1073725440}>]

where:

state

Enable or disable the firewall.

The default is enabled.

boblyuk July 8th, 2006 09:17 AM

hi again sorry to be such a pain but where do i add that code thing.
soryy about the questions
thankss

foolofthehill July 8th, 2006 09:20 AM

Honestly, I've no idea......:o
What I could imagine is that you either need to use the "Tab" of your keyboard to switch from enabled to disabled, or the arrows of your keyboard or even maybe a manual input of the words......

boblyuk July 8th, 2006 09:26 AM

anyone know where to type the code thingy

foolofthehill July 8th, 2006 09:30 AM

Another option I've just thought about would be to check whether UPnP is enabled in the router instead of disabling the firewall switch to "full":

upnp config

Configure the UPnP™ parameter(s).
SYNTAX:

upnp config

[maxage = <number{60-999999}>]

[writemode = <{full | natonly | readonly}>]

[safenat = <{disabled | enabled}>]

[preferredaddress = <ip-address>]

[httpport = <number{1-65535}>]

where:

maxage

A number between 60 and 999999.

This parameter allows to configure how often the SpeedTouch™ sends a notification message to advertise its presence as an Internet Gateway Device (IGD) on the network.

The default is 1800.
Note Setting this parameter to a low value will increase the number of packets sent over time on the network, but will make the state of the device more up to date.

OPTIONAL

writemode

Choose the set of rules to limit remote access from UPnP.

Choose between:

full: the host will accept all the UPnP SET and GET actions.

natonly: GET and NAT related SET actions will be accepted, all other actions will be ignored.

readonly: the UPnP control point will only be able to retrieve information, all the SET actions are ignored.

The default is natonly.

OPTIONAL

safenat

Enable or disable check on safe NAT entries.

If this check is enabled, all NAT create/delete requests for a LAN side IP address different from the source IP address of the UPnP message will be discarded.

The default is enabled.

OPTIONAL

preferredaddress

CSV list of preferred IP address for UPnP advertisements (1 per LAN IP interface).
Note Enter “0.0.0.0” for none.

OPTIONAL

httpport

A number between 1 and 65535.

Represents the web server port.

The default is 80.

ive managed to disable the firewall properly, but i can still see the brick wall next to the globe

foolofthehill July 8th, 2006 10:22 AM

Did you configure your XP built-in firewall as well as explained in the link I've posted in my first reply??
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../Smilywais.gif

boblyuk July 8th, 2006 10:23 AM

ahh for some reason i cant switch off my xp firewall, even though ive configured it for the lime wire software :'(

boblyuk July 8th, 2006 02:03 PM

anyone know how to switch off the xp firewall or delete it, ive tried the firewall settings but for some reason that isn't working

Sleepless July 9th, 2006 09:33 AM

You have to have Administrator rights to be able to switch it of

If you have no other firewall running now but XP-firewall then there is no need to switch it of. Just add you TCP and UDP ports (listening and forwarded port in Limewire which BTW should be the same port for this to work)

In my case portnumber is 64048 (it's Danish but the tabs should be in the same places)

Press the exeptions tab

Tilføj port = Add port

Add Port.jpg

Do the same for UDP

boblyuk July 9th, 2006 02:14 PM

ive configured my router firewall and the windows one with the port number you said, but still no luck. even with the firewalls off no luck

please help me:(

Sleepless July 9th, 2006 02:22 PM

:D lol

I didn't mean configure to the number I posted. That is my portnumber. I meant configure to the port you set for your Limewire. Oh well :D Then change the number in Limewire to 64048 as well. both set listening port to 64048 and choose manual portforward and type 64048 in there. Then press Apply and then OK

In Limewire choose Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewall Config

If it works then the wall should disappear

Also look in Example Bugreport

Tools>Options>Bug Reports and press view example

"Recieved Incoming This Session" should say true

Also "Port Stable" should say true

boblyuk July 9th, 2006 02:25 PM

i forgot what my port number was
:( :(
and my recieved incoming says false

pls help

Sleepless July 9th, 2006 02:42 PM

read the whole post. not just the beginning. I edited it

boblyuk July 9th, 2006 02:53 PM

the globe is not dissapearing, ive tried the bug report but no luck.
everytime i press connect it disconects after few seconds.

sorry about this
ps port stable is true

Sleepless July 9th, 2006 03:34 PM

Are you absolutely sure that you have no other firewall running ?

I am looking for a site that checks your port. I have used it before but forgot to bookmark. I will post link to it if I figure out what site I used

Sleepless July 10th, 2006 10:42 AM

This is a link to test your port

https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 Go to bottom of page and press proceed

Test the port you have forwarded for Limewire. Then press text summary. Copy and paste what it says into a reply here.

Do the same thing with some other port (eg. 55555) And copy/paste the text summary for that too

boblyuk July 10th, 2006 11:17 AM

this is my lime wire port

That means that you have made a mistake either when configuring the Firewall or portforwarding your router. Or there is something blocking Limewire that you don't know of. Try and look at everything you have done so far to see if there is anything that you might have skipped, misread or put the wrong number in. Also download CCleaner (just use google to find it) is has much more efficient add/remove programs. If there is some other firewall then it will come up there I believe. If some programnames come up that you do not recognise then google the names to see what they are.
