Default Router Problem?

Hi, Im having a Wireless Router problem, I recently got a Router to connect me to the Internet, and Limewire wasnt working, so I decided to see how to fix it.
I followed some of the Intructions on this forum and made it to this Link.

http://www.portforward.com/english/r...4/Limewire.htm

My Router is a D-Link G-54, but whenever I type in my IP Adress, 192.168.0.1 into my browser it comes up with a Motorola Cable Modem sign-in page. Motorola is the Broadband Modem I'm connected to, but i cant connect to my router, any ideas?
(I'm in Sydney, Australia connected to Bigpond via a Motorola Modem if that helps)

Hi joshthesim26,
Well I've asked around and the best info I can come up with at the moment would be for you to call Bigpond and find out how to configure the modem and Router....See what they tell you...Then come back and let us know what they have said and we may be able to help you Port Forward then...
Sorry I cant be more helpful at the moment...

I am guessing your Motorola Modem is an SBG900 it is the only Motorola I can find that has the same default address as your D-Link G-54 192.168.0.1 If it is the above mentioned Modem you do not need the D-Link the Modem has a built in router in it. As far as being able to or how to access your D-Link I have no Idea of how you are going to do that.

The only way I can think of is to change the default address of one or the other. But I do not know how to do that. The second link is a guide to port forwarding through 2 routers if you need it. Best I can do is say good luck for now.

I will do some more investigation latter if I have time.

Thank you very much for your consideration and help!

Yes 'Grandpa' I do have a SBG900, aswell as an SB5100 Cable Modem, both connected on another computer about 2 rooms away. And I'm picking up on the connection via a D-Link G-54. So its a bit strange to me that I'm picking up on a sign in page of a Wireless Surfboard Gateway that belongs to a computer 2 rooms away, instead of the D-Link on my own

I'll try those websites and let you know if they've helped me or if Im gonna have to keep on trying

Thanks Again!

Hey wondering_why
Instead of contacting Bigpond I contacted my Brother-in-law, who's a computer-wiz, and asked him to help me configure this whole thing, and he's anti-limewire/kazaa, etc, etc.
So I told him I was having problems with iTunes, he told me to open iTunes, it worked perfectly, and he just laughed and said problem solved
So, I'm still no-where Although he did help in some ways, he told me I didnt even have a Router, what I thought was my Router was just a Wireless card connecting me to a modem.
Does this help in any way, or should I still contact Bigpond?

Well I reckon you could try Port Forwarding your Motorola, see if that works...
You will find the instructions for that at the same Port Forwarding site..
Let us know how you get on....

I've been trying to Port Forward my Motorola, but I can't remember my Modems user name or password
Do you know who I should contact so I can log-into my Router, and find my details?

By default the username is admin, and the password is motorola.

That webpage looks very promising! Thankyou, this is the Log-in page I am seeing, however my User-ID isnt admin and/or the password isn't motorola as I still can't log in.
Any ideas on what to do next?
Thankyou though, I think that page will help me once I can actually log-in!

This is just a stab in the dark, try entering 10.0.0.138 instead of 192.168.100.1.
