![]() I have limewire pro 4.12.3 and I have been downloading files great, but recently I cannot download anything even though I have plenty of sources. The file will stay at the status of "connecting" but the download never starts. I've heard that my isp, Comcast, gives trouble to p2p programs but this is the first time in 4 months. |

![]() I have the same problem. I right clicked on the file to check with Bitzi and the answer was the file could not be found but when I entered the title of the movie for Bitzi to search I got answers which were among the results found by Limewire and still Limewire needed new sources and the download couldn't start. I checked with E-Donkey I get the files and I can download but it's usually slower than with Limewire Pro which I'd rather used. Does Limewire prevent some titles from being downloaded? Also there are requests for some TV series that elicit no reply at all when you dl a number of episodes from E-donkey: are they barred from downloading by Limewire? |

![]() I often use the Bitzi search for a movie and use the magnet link to start the download, needless to say that the sources aren't always available so, I just wait and try again at a different time and I do eventually get the movie... I dont know much about E-donkey, so I cant help you there.. I do know that Limewire doesn't restrict any downloads as it doesn't have anything to do with what people share on the network, it's just the software that links our computers to one another... ![]()

So I 'm getting them from e-Donkey but downloading is much slower than with LWpro Just like the movie I'd been trying to download and (like Pope97) got a huge number of files to choose from with plenty of sources and LW kept saying "need new sources". I got CD1 from e-Donkey within 2 days while many others (part 2 or full movie) are being downloaded. Being stubborn I went back to LW until I got one out of hundreds of them that could download. Finally it took just a few hours for the complete movie to download from LWpro whereas it took at least two days with e-Donkey to download the first part of that same movie . That's why I'd rather use LW |

![]() I've seen a few people having this problem, including myself when searching for more popular files recently and I saw somthing that may be at least part of the cause if what I've noticed is relivant.. I got to download a file, it says "connecting" for a long period of time, before eventually "need more sources", so I cancel the download realising it's one of "those" files that just won't download.. but then I checked my incomplete folder, and had loads of incomplete files from previously cancelled searches (that wouldn't connect) all 0 bytes in size. So I'm wondering, if limewire downloads from the incomplete folder, is the reason that there are so many results for files that won't download because loads of people have tried to download the file, failed, but are still left with the 0 byte file in the "incomplete" folder, and after that's downloaded/created limewire runs out of sources? And secondly, if that is true, could it not be that people who don't have p2p's best interests at heart are using this bug (if it is indeed a bug, I'm just guessing) to create results with hundreds of sources that will not download, thus helping to make the network so painful to find a true result people just won't bother? maybe? |

![]() I got to download a file, it says "connecting" for a long period of time, before eventually "need more sources", i have read from other posts that it could be a fake file but i have spent nearly all day searching for music and it doesnt want to know, i just get connecting then need more sources..... i only downloaded 4.12 today and it cost me!!!! getting very frustrated now, please please someone point me in the right direction!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() The magnet links at Bitzi are 1. not compatible with LimeWire. & 2. generally very old & no longer useful. However magnet links are a very good way to send files to friends. And Bitzi is a very good way to find reports about files you're searching for. |
