Unhappy Can't Connect?

"Limewire is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return until you are fully connected to the network."

This pop up always keeps popping up even after a few hours. There's only one green block out of the five, with the wall of bricks. When I search for something, the page is just blank. The Limewire sign thing just kind of keeps on spinning.

This is my first time using it on this computer. It works on my brother's computer, but it doesn't work on mine?

Help, please? Thank you for helping.

Make sure you're only using 1 software firewall & that it's configured for LW
Firewall setup

Your problem might be coming from an internal firewall within a modem or router. Read through the thread below, it's got heaps of info about connection/firewall problems. Do the port test & see what result you get
Connection problems? Check here first!

What are your details?

OS(Win XP etc)
LW & Java version (help > about LW & you'll see)
Firewall you're using
Modem/router brand & model
ISP
Connection type (DSL etc)
Where you connect from (home, school etc)
Are you sharing a connection with other computers
Is this your first try with LW

Yes, I am only using one firewall, windows firewall, and yes, it is configured for LW. I did the port test, and it said that it was okay.

OS: XP
LW & Java version: LW: 4.12.6 Java Version: 1.5.0__06
Firewall you're using: Windows
Modem/router brand & model: Netgear, I'm not too sure about the model...
ISP: Comcast...?
Connection type: Modem
Where you connect from: Home
Are you sharing a connection with other computers: Nope
Is this your first try with LW: On this computer, yes.

Sorry if the answers aren't what you're looking for. I'm particularly new at this. x_x

We'll probably need to know the model of your Netgear
Have a good look at it, the model should be written somewhere.
Ask your brother if he's got port forwarding set up!

Well, um, I'm not too sure if this is right, but, I found, 4gr614 v4? xD I know, I'm stupid, bear with me please. xD Thanks, lol. But, anyways, um, my brother is significantly younger than myself, and I doubt that he has any idea what port forwarding is? x]

There's a WRG614. The port forwarding site's got a few versions listed but not a version 4, there's a v5 & v6. I'm guessing you'd just have to use the plain ol' 614 instructions so here they are
http://www.portforward.com/english/r...4/Limewire.htm

Don't forget to set up a static IP address first, there's a link (in red) for this within that set of instructions.
After you do that & set up port forwarding, go to LW's tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Choose the 'manual port forward' option & enter the same port number as LW's listening port > apply.

I can't seem to set up the static IP number. I can't pull up webpages, after I change all of my settings, I'll have to give my ISP a call later.
