I need some new suggestions

Hi I've been posting for a week now trying to get on limewire so heres my status. Toshiba laptop, LAN connection @ apartment complex, Windows Firewall is OFF, Spysweeper, and Norton Antivirus 2006 are my protective software, XP Home, java completley updated. Ok so I've tried everything. I have deleted my entire preference folder, uninstalled limewire, reinstalled limewire. I have tried using older versions of limewire also. I have tried turning off spysweeper, and norton to see if anything happens and nothing. My roomate is able to use limewire no prob so it's something with my comp. I have tried manipulating the preferences on limewire every which a way possible.

Here is whats happening when I start limewire. The brick wall is in front of globe and then slowly it goes off and I get 4 out of 5 bars. I can search and bring back results slower than normal though. When I click a file to download the connection bars drop off and eventually it goes to disconnected status. Someone smart please help me, I'm fairly good at this stuff but this has stumped me. When I was at home I had no problem, just want it back. Thanks

Try disabling ultrapeer capabilities (tools > options > speed).
Also disable all iTunes options.
Limit your simultaneous downloads to just 1 or 2.
Reduce your download & upload bandwidth a little.

Thanks for the suggestion but still the same thing. 3 green bars and slow search.... anything else?
