nothing will work!!!

Please dont tell me to look at another forum. None of them help. Here's whats wrong.

I have dial up. I have had an older version of Limewire for a while now. On Saturday I decided to download the latest version Lime wire. Thats when all the problems started to happen. First, I had to download the latest Java to even get into Limewire. Now I go into it, and it says it cannot connect because there is a firewall or no internet connection. Well, I know that there is an internet connection, because I've been surfing for hours now.
The problem is I DO NOT HAVE A FIREWALL ACTIVATED!!!!! Not any!!! I havent had any problems connecting to Limewire until now, and I havent installed a firewall or changed anything at all!!!! It is very frustrating, and I need Limewire to finish a project before Friday. Someone PLEASE HELP ME!!!

What kind of protection prgrams do you have (i.e. Norton, McAffee, etc.)
When you say you do not have any firewall activated, do you mean that you have disabled those on your computer (i.e. the XP built-in one)?
It would be better to configure the firewall properly than to just disable it. Some firewalls still keep some prcesses running in the background although they are disabled.
Look here on how to configure firewalls (connection problems -click first):
