Please Read: Can Anyone Help Me? I continue to get the message: Limewire was unable to initialize and start. This is usually due to a firewall program blocking Limewire access to the internet or loopback connections to the local machine. Please allow Limewire access to the internet and restart Limewire. Now I have gone on Limewire and followed the troubleshooting.. didn't work I went throught the form.. added ports, checked page "You passed the test", uninstalled and reinstalled It worked for months and one day it stopped.....please help I tried all of the things suggeted but i still does not work |
You say that you have tried everything......does this include deleting the LW preference folder as described in Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36420 As well as configuring your firewall as described in (connection problems -click first): http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=51361 For users of any Norton program it might also be necessary to delete all previous exceptions made for LW to get the update effective for the new one.... :Smilywais: |

What LW version and Java version do you have? How did you install them? Using offline installer or via internet? As I read it, your LW doesn't even complete the start up and just quits before you reach the complete LW window, right?? :Smilywais: |
